Masterpieces: Art & East Anglia book wins award
On 8 November, the Norfolk Book Awards ceremony took place at OPEN in Bank Plain A glittering occasion – everyone certainly scrubbed up well – with fizzy sponsored by Adnams, white tablecloths and bright lights, the evening certainly looked the part. The guest of honour was Liz Calder, founder of Bloomsbury Press, who now lives in Suffolk and it was she that opened all the envelopes. There were lots of smiles and valiantly disappointed faces as each award was announced but the crowd went wild when the Masterpieces book was announced as overall winner, partly, maybe, because we all have a little bit invested in it, as people who live in East Anglia, and partly because it is a well-deserved winner and a very elegant publication, well worth a long-term read, packed full of information. If you don't already have a copy, it is worth buying one from Jarrolds or the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

When I was reading Art in East Anglia, I instantly thought that it is a classic masterpiece which should be give more attention than it is receiving. Winning this book award completely proves the potential of this book.
