Norfolk Creativity and Wellbeing Week June 10 - 16 2019A big thank you to all the organisations and to all the artists who have collaborated so generously to create this week-long celebration across Norfolk show-casing the many ways in which creativity impacts positively on our health and wellbeing. In this inaugural programme for people of all ages, you will find over 75 events including: open days, craft and print-making taster sessions, film and theatre performances, singing workshops, stitching and writing for wellbeing, exhibitions, talks, professional development sessions and more.
The week is part of our ongoing work to encourage and support greater collaboration between our arts, culture, heritage and health partners. It is also part of a series of events promoted by London Arts in Health Forum and the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance who are working together to build on the enormous success of the London Creativity and Wellbeing Week which has been expanded to become a national event from 2019.

As part of the inaugural Norfolk Creativity & Wellbeing Week 2019, Norfolk Arts Service has developed two days of FREE professional development sessions focusing on creativity and wellbeing. The sessions are aimed at creative practitioners and cultural professionals as well as those working in the health and wellbeing sector. Historic Environment Assistant (Digitisation) - Gressenhall Farm & Workhouse

The NHER Digitisation Project is an ambitious scheme to transform the majority of the NHER’s paper and photographic archive into a dynamic digital resource which is fully integrated with the HBSMR database, represented on the Norfolk Heritage Explorer website, and is more widely accessible to all NHER users. The successful candidate will join a growing team to support delivery of this project. Responsibilities will include checking the accuracy of existing electronic documentation against the paper and photographic archives, assisting in compilation and data cleansing of Microsoft Excel catalogues, entering and editing data in the HBSMR database, and processing new digital material. The candidate may also undertake in-house scanning of fragile archival material.

The successful candidate will join a growing team to take on the responsibility of integrating data produced by the Finds Identification and Recording Team and Portable Antiquities Scheme into the HER database. Working closely with the Identification and Recording team, they will ensure a smooth transfer of digital data from the PAS website and will oversee the integration of artefact drawings and digital photography into the HER archive and database systems. The candidate will also support the HER Officers by responding to non-commercial enquiries, entering data from other sources, and participating in enhancement projects.

The successful candidate will join a growing team to help maintain, develop, and enhance the HER database, the Norfolk Heritage Explorer website, the Norfolk Air Photo Library, and the HER paper and photographic archives. They will be responsible for interacting with and processing enquiries from a wide variety of users, including professional archaeologists, academics, students, community groups, and individuals. They will also assist in incorporating new data into the electronic systems, participate in project-based enhancement work, and support promotional activities such as talks and workshops.

Fundraising Associate - Norfolk Into Opera Festival

Festival Coordinator - Norfolk Into Opera Festival

Opportunities for Artists/Writers/Performers
Tales Of The Monster In My Head - Submissions Wanted
Naked Frank Theatre are giving writers and poets the opportunity to submit poetry and short stories about their experiences with mental health, for 'Tales of The Monster In My Head'.
A 3 day social event is being held at the Tristan Bates Theatre between 14th-16th August with completed works being performed by a cast of six in the form of a poetry slam, meets physical theatre show. All writers submitting works will have their work presented visually through a set exhibition and this will form part of a Q&A after the show about mental health awareness. The audience will then join us on stage to witness the display and then take part in meet and greet in the bar. The event is an opportunity for writers to network and an opportunity for the whole community to strengthen support networks and break the stigma attached to speaking out about mental health in general.

Rural Touring Dance Initiative Call Out For Artists
We are seeking artists to take part in this project. This is an opportunity to tour existing work to rural locations; in addition to guaranteed show fees there are a limited number of bursaries averaging £1200 for artists with existing shows to adapt shows for rural touring. Companies who have toured with the RTDI have averaged 7 supported shows with fees varying from £850 to £1400 depending on scale and cost. There is also a paid for residential workshop exploring touring dance to rural locations to prepare artists for the experience. (Full details)

Art Eat Festival Art Fair Registration Now Open - Ipswich Waterfront
This fair offers a fantastic opportunity for artists to showcase and sell work to a large diverse audience over the two day festival. The fair will take place in the iconic University of Suffolk waterfront building at the heart of the festival site. All participating artists will need to be present at their stands/pitches during the opening hours of the festival and will be responsible for the set-up, take-down and sales of their artwork. Call Out For Dance Artists To Join QuestLab Network
In 2019 Studio Wayne McGregor is offering an opportunity for eight dance artists from across England to participate in the second year of our artist development programme focusing on intersections between dance and technology. The eight artists will receive financial support for travel, accommodation and subsistence for the residency. Funded by Arts Council England’s Ambition for Excellence programme, QuestLab Network will create a new network of dance artists, developers, technologists and commercial organisations, leading to the development and delivery of performance and engagement projects around the country.

Community Film Maker Needed - North Norfolk Arts Cooperative
Paid position
Due to illness North Norfolk Arts Cooperative are desperately in need of a community film maker to work on a multi media project which has started and needs to be completed by mid June.
The film maker needs to be available for filming on Saturday May 18th on location in Briston Norfolk and then be able to edit the piece into three minute footage (maximum). Ideally they need someone who can advise and work with members of the community creating footage for a performance.

The Sunny Art Prize - Submissions Wanted
The Sunny Art Prize is an international art competition hosted by Sunny Art Centre, London. This fine art award is a global platform, giving an opportunity to emerging and established artists to showcase their talents to a wider audience. They are seeking a variety of submissions which can range from two-dimensional works such as paintings, drawings and photographs, to three-dimensional sculptures, and ceramics.

The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize
Selected from original art works, the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize and exhibition has an established reputation for its commitment to championing excellence and promoting and celebrating the breadth of contemporary drawing practice within the UK. Initial entry is by online registration only. Following the online registration, those registered must then complete the Work Submission Form and Work Labels and hand these in with the drawings at their selected Collection Centre.

Sunday Times Watercolour Competition 2019
Now in its 32nd year, The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition is the largest and most prestigious watercolour competition in the UK. Hugely popular with artists, gallery visitors and readers of The Sunday Times, the competition aims to celebrate and reward excellence and originality in the medium of watercolour.
Entry is through an online entry process. Entry fee is £15 per work. Artists may enter up to 4 works only. The panel of judges will initially review entries through a digital submission process. Following this, a maximum of 250 shortlisted artists will then be invited to deliver their actual works on 5 July 2019, from 10 – 5pm and 6 July 2018, from 10 – 4pm, to the Federation of British Artists (FBA), 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD, for final judging.
Only works shortlisted from the initial digital submission will be received for final judging. These works will only be accepted at the submission point with fully completed entry forms and labels, which will be emailed to artists following the initial selection. Please note that notification of all results will be sent by email only.
The closing deadline for online submission is 5pm, 17 June 2019.

Composer for Choral Project - Work with Frozen Light

Frozen Light are looking for expressions of interest from composers for their exciting new choral project for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities. We want to work with a composer with specialist experience of writing or arranging music for choirs. Norfolk Creativity and Wellbeing Week June 10 - 16 2019A big thank you to all the organisations and to all the artists who have collaborated so generously to create this week-long celebration across Norfolk show-casing the many ways in which creativity impacts positively on our health and wellbeing. In this inaugural programme for people of all ages, you will find over 75 events including: open days, craft and print-making taster sessions, film and theatre performances, singing workshops, stitching and writing for wellbeing, exhibitions, talks, professional development sessions and more.
The week is part of our ongoing work to encourage and support greater collaboration between our arts, culture, heritage and health partners. It is also part of a series of events promoted by London Arts in Health Forum and the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance who are working together to build on the enormous success of the London Creativity and Wellbeing Week which has been expanded to become a national event from 2019.

The NHER Digitisation Project is an ambitious scheme to transform the majority of the NHER’s paper and photographic archive into a dynamic digital resource which is fully integrated with the HBSMR database, represented on the Norfolk Heritage Explorer website, and is more widely accessible to all NHER users. The successful candidate will join a growing team to support delivery of this project. Responsibilities will include checking the accuracy of existing electronic documentation against the paper and photographic archives, assisting in compilation and data cleansing of Microsoft Excel catalogues, entering and editing data in the HBSMR database, and processing new digital material. The candidate may also undertake in-house scanning of fragile archival material.

Tales Of The Monster In My Head - Submissions Wanted
Naked Frank Theatre are giving writers and poets the opportunity to submit poetry and short stories about their experiences with mental health, for 'Tales of The Monster In My Head'.
A 3 day social event is being held at the Tristan Bates Theatre between 14th-16th August with completed works being performed by a cast of six in the form of a poetry slam, meets physical theatre show. All writers submitting works will have their work presented visually through a set exhibition and this will form part of a Q&A after the show about mental health awareness. The audience will then join us on stage to witness the display and then take part in meet and greet in the bar. The event is an opportunity for writers to network and an opportunity for the whole community to strengthen support networks and break the stigma attached to speaking out about mental health in general.

Rural Touring Dance Initiative Call Out For Artists
We are seeking artists to take part in this project. This is an opportunity to tour existing work to rural locations; in addition to guaranteed show fees there are a limited number of bursaries averaging £1200 for artists with existing shows to adapt shows for rural touring. Companies who have toured with the RTDI have averaged 7 supported shows with fees varying from £850 to £1400 depending on scale and cost. Community Film Maker Needed - North Norfolk Arts Cooperative

Sunday Times Watercolour Competition 2019
Now in its 32nd year, The Sunday Times Watercolour Competition is the largest and most prestigious watercolour competition in the UK. Hugely popular with artists, gallery visitors and readers of The Sunday Times, the competition aims to celebrate and reward excellence and originality in the medium of watercolour.
Entry is through an online entry process. Entry fee is £15 per work. Artists may enter up to 4 works only. The panel of judges will initially review entries through a digital submission process. Following this, a maximum of 250 shortlisted artists will then be invited to deliver their actual works on 5 July 2019, from 10 – 5pm and 6 July 2018, from 10 – 4pm, to the Federation of British Artists (FBA), 17 Carlton House Terrace, London SW1Y 5BD, for final judging.
Only works shortlisted from the initial digital submission will be received for final judging. These works will only be accepted at the submission point with fully completed entry forms and labels, which will be emailed to artists following the initial selection. Please note that notification of all results will be sent by email only.

We’re looking for artists who show originality, skill and imagination in response to the art of the past. You can interpret this as widely as you like. You will have the chance to explain your interpretation in your artist statement.
Open to anyone over 18 years of age. Fee: £35 (+VAT if applicable) to apply with 4 artworks.

Composer for Choral Project - Work with Frozen Light

Frozen Light are looking for expressions of interest from composers for their exciting new choral project for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities. We want to work with a composer with specialist experience of writing or arranging music for choirs. We are also interested in working with people with experience of leading choirs and bringing singers together.
Frozen Light are leaders in the field of creating and touring multi-sensory performance for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). We are currently on tour with our fourth performance The Isle of Brimsker which is touring 55 theatre venues across the UK. We are passionate about creating accessible opportunities for people with PMLD to enable them to access the arts in a way that is meaningful to them.
