at Felbrigg Hall The Tourists Felbrigg Hall, Norfolk, 3 May-31 October 2014 This Spring and Summer an exhibition of newly commissioned artworks will enliven the house and orangery at Felbrigg Hall, a National Trust property in North Norfolk. Stories of Felbrigg’s former inhabitants, tales from the Grand Tour, country pursuits and the habitats of birds will be explored in the sculpture, photography and installation art on show Three artists from outside Norfolk: Gayle Chong Kwan, Kate MccGwire and Claire Morgan have been commissioned to make artistic responses to Felbrigg and its contents and stories. They have visited, researched and absorbed the atmosphere of the house and gardens, and made their work with the fascinating collections of books, paintings and objects at Felbrigg in mind. The resulting sculpture and installation art will be unveiled in May 2014 and will be on display throughout the summer season. For opening times see: nationaltrust.org.uk/felbrigg-hall The exhibition is curated by Caroline Fisher from NCAS. The Tourists is a new collaboration between the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society and the National Trust, and is supported by grants from the Arts Council, NCAS & EAAF. |
