Targetfollow presents Distant Camera - a selection of photographs by Clive Dunn
.
Please join us for the Private View of Distant Camera on Friday 24th April 2015 between 5 - 7pm at The Adnams Bar, Norwich Theatre Royal, Theatre Street, NR2 1RL. The exhibition continues until 22/07/15
Clive Dunn is an award-winning film-maker based in Norwich. He has written, produced and directed documentaries and dramatised biographies for all the major network TV channels. He has tackled a wide range of subjects and styles from popular factual to history, arts and wildlife. He began his working life as a Cartographic Draughtsman for the Ordnance Survey, which gave him the foundation for his lifelong love of topography and landscape. He then trained as a photographer but eventually moved into television.
Distant Camera is a collection of digital images that evoke the spirit of place in the English landscape. Clive's photography explores remote and under-visited areas of our countryside; forgotten, rarely trodden landscapes off-the-beaten track and beyond the obvious. He seeks out ruined dwellings and half-buried remains decayed with the passage of history while still retaining a magical atmosphere and an air of secrecy or mystery. From an artistic standpoint, Clive wants his pictures to hold a spiritual resonance too; from Christian places of worship to Celtic shrines – stone circles and medieval churches are regular subject matter. These are images that aim to capture isolation and time standing still.
This exhibition is part of the Theatre Royal's exhibition series kindly sponsored by Targetfollow Estates Ltd. Targetfollow were shortlisted for an Arts and Business Award for their continued support of the arts Norfolk Arts Awards 2014.
