About Art in NorwichEditions of Art in Norwich come out twice a year, spring and autumn. It contains listings and info about most of the visual arts activity in and around Norwich and parts of Norfolk for the next six months. It is available as a download from here, and is also available from partner and arts venues, arts info spinner racks and the Tourist Information Centre in the Forum. The listings are put together as a collaborative venture by the Norwich Visual Arts Forum and all of the partners contribute to the production and distribution which is coordinated by Marion Catlin of Culture Shift. Norfolk project Moveable Estates by Cooking Sections is nominated for the Turner Prize 2021. This project, curated by East GalleryNUA, launched just at the beginning of lockdown last year. It is an audio work in the dunes at Winterton-on-Sea. You need to go to Winterton! Paint Out Norfolk 2023 at a range of locations.

In Event of Moon Disaster Presented in a 1960s living room and inspired by the title of a speech prepared for President Nixon in case the Apollo 11 moon landing was met with a catastrophe, the show recreates the speech using deepfake technology, using AI to tell an alternative history. Anne & Patrick Poirier sculpture Homage to Sir Thomas Browne - an update
It has been recently announced that the Poirier artwork Homage to Thomas Browne which was removed from Hay Hill will be re-sited at Eaton Park. More news about when that will happen (probably mid-summer) soon. St Margaret's Church of Art, St Benedict's Street, Norwich
Please note that the church is currently closed for renovations by Norwich Historic Churches Trust. When it reopens, it will have a new tenant, and the hope is that it will continue to be available for art exhibitions in the future. More news soon! Decision made on Hay Hill sculptures
Norwich City Council have a plan to improve Hay Hill in central Norwich (between Next and Primark). However, this includes removing the public artwork Homage to Sir Thomas Browne by French artists Anne & Patrick Poirier. The decision has been made to grant planning permission to remove the sculpture, although there is no suitable site to move them to as yet. The Art Society programmes monthly lectures which start at 7pm at the John Innes Centre, Norwich Research Park, Colney Lane, Norwich NR4 7UH. Lectures are free for members. Visitors are welcome to attend for a donation of £7 please. More here Royal Drawing School classes
