Bryony Applegate, Bjork Haraldsdottir, Emily Stapleton Jefferis, Kathryn Sherriff
A new exhibition for the pre-Christmas period, to include sculptural and functional ceramics with a restrained and calm aesthetic and using a range of experimental techniques in clay.

The four ceramicists will show a selection of brand new work which will comprise tableware, lighting, statement pieces and sculptures.

Bryony Applegate graduated this year from the MA in Ceramics and Glass at the Royal College of Art. During her time at the RCA she spent a month on a residency in Jingdezhen, China where she honed her porcelain slip casting techniques.

Her work consists of functional tableware and lighting made using the experimental techniques of marbling and piping with porcelain slip. In creating tableware, Bryony likes to work with chefs to create pieces that complement their food and she has recently embarked upon a partnership with a Michelin starred chef.

Caroline Fisher Projects, 93a Upper St Giles’ Street, Norwich, NR2 1AB, UK
Gallery open Friday and Saturday 1pm-5pm during exhibitions or by appointment

About Caroline Fisher Projects
Caroline Fisher Projects encourages artists working in clay and other media to realise innovative work that pushes the boundaries of these disciplines.

Over recent years there has been a questioning of the role of ceramic practice within art and craft.
Can a functional object also be an art work? What is the status of making in an art world increasingly obsessed with ideas? How will a new generation of artists learn about ceramic techniques now that there are so few higher level courses that focus on these? How can clay be combined with other media such as film, photography, performance, music and food?

The first floor space at 93a Upper St Giles’ Street, Norwich is an exhibition space but also hosts a ‘Clay Conversation’ on the first Friday of the month at 11am during exhibitions. All welcome to attend.
